David Bowie Unseen ‘Ziggy Stardust’ Tour Footage Shared: Watch

Previously unseen footage of David Bowie on his historic Ziggy Stardust tour has been released, watch below.

The footage is from the Ziggy Stardust tour and was shot in the UK during 1972 and 1973 by late Bowie collaborator, photographer Mick Rock, featuring the album version of Ziggy Stardust as its soundtrack.

It was unveiled at an event last night (14 June) at the KEF Music Gallery London, 32-48 Great Portland St, London, which also hosted hosted the world premiere of tracks from Rock’n’Roll Star!, the Dolby Atmos mix of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars , and Q&A with Ziggy co-producer Ken Scott.

From 15-30 June, fans will be able to experience the Dolby Atmos mix exclusively at the KEF Music Gallery, nearly three months ahead of its release. The Gallery will also be hosting special events and activations inspired by the time that Bowie was writing and recording this legendary album. The The Dolby Atmos spatial audio mix of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars will be released on Blu-Ray Audio and streaming on 6 September.

Rock’n’Roll Star!, the new David Bowie 5CD+Blu-ray box set, is out now. The set explores explores David Bowie’s journey from February 1971 through the creation of Ziggy Stardust, and the recording of the iconic The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars album. Highlights from the set will also be available as a half-speed mastered LP.

Rock’n’Roll Star! features 29 unreleased tracks, including early songwriting demos, recordings from David’s band, The Arnold Corns, rehearsals at Bowie’s then-home, Haddon Hall, BBC sessions, singles, live performances, plus outtakes and alternative versions from the album recording sessions, which have been newly mixed by original co-producer, Ken Scott.

Rock’n’Roll Star! also contains two books. The first is an extensive 112-page book with detailed liner notes, memorabilia, contemporary reviews and articles, rare photographs from Barrie Wentzel, Michael Putland, Mick Rock, Sukita and Alec Byrne, as well as brand-new notes and interviews with Ken Scott, Mark Carr Pritchett and David’s plugger from the time, Anya Wilson. Accompanying the main book is a 36-page compiled reproduction of David’s personal Ziggy Stardust-era notebooks.
