Hear New Remaster Of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Help Me’
Joni Mitchell has shared another remastered track from the forthcoming box set, The Asylum Albums (1972-1975). The 2022 version of Help Me – from her 1974 album Court & Spark – is available today on digital download and streaming services.
The Asylum Albums (1972-1975) will be released on 23 September as either a 4CD or 5LP 180-gram vinyl set. Each version is limited to 20,000 copies. The set will also be available digitally. It features remastered versions of For The Roses, Court And Spark, The Hissing Of Summer Lawns, and the double live album, Miles Of Aisles.

The years covered by the The Asylum Albums (1972-1975) is the subject of this month’s cover feature in Uncut magazine. Author Graeme Thomson has spoken to some of the key players behind the new box set, including Ken Calliat – the engineer who has overseen Dolby mixes of the four albums. Calliat spoke about Mitchell’s reaction to hearing the new mixes, “She was thrilled. And we were thrilled that she was thrilled.” According to Calliat, Mitchell turned to him and said, “I love the sound of my voice… I can’t believe how good my voice sounds!”
Patrick Milligan, director of A&R at Rhino Records, who has been overseeing the ongoing reissue series, said, “Joni has been going through therapy to get beyond her aneurysm, and in the three years I’ve known her, the improvement has been incredible… She told me, ‘Working on these projects has helped me.’ I think we’re going to be hearing from her all the time. She is really getting back into the swing of things… She really loves the response that these have gotten, it’s meaning a lot to her. She felt for years that she was underappreciated, so it’s a wonderful thing.”
