When asked to reveal her celebrity crush, the singer said, “I always had a crush on Mick Jagger. I loved when we toured with the Rolling Stones.”
Tina was also asked how she would like to be remembered, to which she replied, “As the Queen of Rock’n’Roll. As a woman who showed other women that it is OK to strive for success on their own terms.”
When questioned about what scares her about getting older, she replied, “Nothing. This is life’s full adventure and I embrace and accept every day with what it brings.
Her answer to the question, “What is the trait you most deplore in others?” was unequivocal, “Too many times I had people try and make decisions for me. The assumption that I needed that was a big mistake!”
This month marks the fifth anniversary of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical. The hit show is now booking to spring 2024 at the Aldwych theatre, London.
Last November, the singer released a deluxe reissue of her 1986 album Break Every Rule. The 3CD+2DVD deluxe edition was encased inside a premium box in a similar vein to 2021’s highly popular Foreign Affair deluxe edition. It contained the original album fully remastered for the first time, with the second CD containing a collection of B-sides, remixes and live performances. On CD3, fans were able to enjoy Tina’s Guinness World Record performance in front of over 180,000 adoring fans at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. The footage of the legendary concert was released on DVD1, while DVD2 contained all the promo videos upgraded to HD for the first time, alongside a more intimate gig from Camden Palace in London.
