Leigh-Anne Pinnock Shares Taster Of Debut Solo Single
Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared a taster of her first-ever solo single DSL on Instagram.
The Little Mix star is the first of her bandmates to announce solo material after the hugely successful group announced they were to go on an indefinite hiatus last year.
Leigh-Anne’s bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards are also working on solo projects. Jade expressed her support for Leigh-Anne’s release in the comments of the teaser by writing, “WE ARE READYYYYYYY,” while Perrie posted, “Omg. I dieeeeeeeeeeee. The visuals. The vocals. The lewkkkk (sic)!”
Last month, Leigh-Anne’s manager, Ed Millett, raised anticipation for her solo material in an interview with Music Week. Millett enthused, “The music is absolutely sensational, and she is a dream to work with. She’s incredibly ambitious and what’s been exciting about this process is it’s not her carrying on doing Little Mix pop tunes as a solo artist; this is the birth of a new global artist. And the people that have jumped on the train when they’ve heard the music are the top level people. Whether it be stylists, or photographers, or creatives, or directors, people hear the music and are like, ‘I want to be on this.’
“I don’t want to jinx it by saying it’s going to be massive, but culturally I think it’s amazing positioning, and it’s truly her. It’s so different from Little Mix in a lot of ways. We’ve now done photos and trailers and we’ve shot the video. This is going to be a really exciting artist launch and I think people are going to be surprised but really impressed. It’s all under wraps at the moment, but it’s coming very soon.”
As a member of Little Mix, Leigh-Anne scored five UK No 1 singles and released six studio albums, five of which achieved platinum sales status in the UK. They have sold more than 60 million records worldwide.
