Alongside the celestial-themed tour poster, Alanis announced on Instagram: “been teeming to share this news with you… (sic).”
Tickets go on general sale on Friday, November 17, at 10am local time. Visit Alanis Morissette’s official website for further information and for a full list of tour dates. The ‘Triple Moon’ tour follows on from Morissette’s 2002 25th anniversary run in support of her seminal 1995 album Jagged Little Pill.
“I am inspired and heartened and feel giddy inside to be going on this upcoming summer tour with Joan and Morgan and all our teams,” Morissette said in an official statement. “Can’t wait to see you, can’t wait to perform!”
Meanwhile, in other news, Alanis Morissette recently confessed that she didn’t want her classic single Ironic on Jagged Little Pill, although it went on to be her biggest hit.
The 49-year-old star said: “You know, I didn’t even want that song on the record. I remember a lot of people going, ‘Please, please, please.’ That was one of the first songs Glen Ballard and I wrote, almost like a demo. But people wound up liking the melody, and I wasn’t that precious about it. I came to realise later that perhaps I should have been. [Laughs] Whoops!”
Earlier this year, Joan Jett concluded a 2 month tour, sharing a stage as a support act to Bryan Adams. The ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour saw Adams and Jett tour the US, finishing in August.
