Dua Lipa Performs Surprise NYC Set And On SNL: Watch
Dua Lipa has marked the release of her third album, Radical Optimism, by hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live and playing a surprise set in Times Square, New York. Watch all performances below.

Lipa performed a free show at the junction of 43rd Street and 7th Avenue, One Times Square Plaza. The set was announced just hours before, with the singer writing on X: “8.30PM EST, ONE TIMES SQUARE PLAZA 43RD STREET AND 7TH AVE, I HAVE A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE FOR YOU, SEE YOU SOON”.
She performed four songs from the new album – Training Season, Houdini, Happy For You and Illusion.
It was a busy weekend for Lipa, who marked her first time hosting Saturday Night Live by also performing Illusion and Happy For You, as well as appearing in a host of sketches. The star explained the meaning behind Radical Optimism on the show saying: “It’s like looking on the bright side of any situation.
UK fans shouldn’t feel left out, Lipa’s Live Lounge Special will broadcast on BBC One this evening (Monday 6 May) at 11.15pm BST and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer. It will also be played on BBC Radio 1 at 7.30pm BST on Tuesday 7 May.
Ahead of her headline performance at Glastonbury 2024, the pop powerhouse will return to the Radio 1 Live Lounge performing new music, a classic and an incredible cover. Full track list includes: Illusion, Training Season, Happy For You, Be The One and Cleo Sol’s Sunshine.
In this 30-minute entertainment special filmed in at Maida Vale Studios, host Clara Amfo will dive into what is fast becoming a huge year for Dua, chatting about her latest album Radical Optimism, her Glastonbury headline performance, and what’s next for the star.
