David Gilmour To Appear On ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’
David Gilmour will make a rare US television appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next Thursday, 7 November.
Returning to US television airwaves for the first time in eight years, Gilmour will perform a song in support of his new album, Luck and Strange. His appearance also coincides with a limited run of shows he’ll playing at New York’s Madison Square Garden starting on 4 November.

Gilmour’s last US television appearance came in 2016 when he supported his album Rattle That Lock with a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He previously appeared on The Tonight Show in 2008 when he performed On An Island with David Crosby and Graham Nash.
The artist’s Luck And Strange tour kicked off in Rome at the Circus Maximus on September 27 and also included at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October, as well as performances in Los Angeles.
Beyond his appearance on The Tonight Show and concerts at Madison Square Garden, Gilmour currently has no additional live performances on the books in 2024.
Luck And Strange recently topped the UK Albums chart, becoming the third Gilmour solo album to top the UK charts, following 2006’s On An Island and 2015’s Rattle That Lock. The legendary musician has also scored six number one albums in the UK with Pink Floyd.
The album also attracted rave reviews on release. Prog magazine’s review said “As a fan, you always hope there’ll be more from your favourite artists, but, as the theme of this album explores, time doesn’t always work that way. Luck And Strange would stand as a fitting epitaph to his not inconsiderable talent. It’s a delight of an album.”
