The date for Record Store Day 2025 has been confirmed. The annual event will return for its 18th edition later this year, with the event set to take place on 12 April.

For the upcoming edition, over 270 independent record shops across the UK – as well as thousands more globally – will prepare to welcome a new wave of vinyl releases. As is the standard, there will also be a series of in-store parties and a celebration of independent record store culture.

To celebrate the imminent Record Store Day 2025, the organisers have also announced a new partner for this year’s event. 2025 will mark the first time that the brand has collaborated with the Cheltenham-based DEYA Brewing Company.

The partnership comes through both brands sharing a focus on community and creativity, something RSD says makes them “the perfect partner to celebrate all things indie”. To mark the two joining forces, a special RSD beer will be available in participating record stores, bottle shops and pubs in April.

Returning brands working with RSD include Studio by Miraval and British loudspeaker and headphone company Bowers & Wilkins. The former is a rosé wine company that is back for its second year of partnership. It is also known for its unique connection to the world of music, with the renowned French wine estate Chateau Miraval being home to one of the most iconic recording studios of all time, including albums recorded by Pink Floyd and The Cranberries.

Bowers & Wilkins continue their partnership with RSD due to their “deep-rooted passion for vinyl and record stores”, and will be supporting the 2025 edition with audio equipment set to enhance the vinyl listening experience. More details about activities and events planned for Record Store Day 2025 are set to be shared at a later date.

Last year’s edition of Record Store Day was held on 20 April and saw a huge variety of exclusive announcements. As ever, the day gave fans the chance to buy special one-off collectable releases on vinyl, cassette and more from hundreds of artists. The 2024 announcements included releases from The 1975, David Bowie, Daft Punk, Talking Heads, Paramore, Blur, Lily Allen, Gorillaz, Elton John and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of St. Vincent and Dave Grohl, last year’s Record Store Day ambassadors were Paramore and Kate Bush. The event also took place amid news that vinyl sales had risen by nearly 15 per cent in the first nine months of 2023, despite the ongoing dominance of streaming services.

Releases last year included Matty Healy and co. sharing The 1975 Live At Gorilla, Blur’s Parklife (Zoetrope LP), The Cure’s The Top – 40th Anniversary Picture Disc and David Bowie’s Waiting in the Sky (Before the Starman Came to Earth) .
