Sir Cliff Richard Celebrates 80th Birthday With New Album
Today, Sir Cliff Richard announces that he will release a special, brand new album to celebrate his 80th birthday year. Released on eastwest Records on 30th October, the new album, entitled Music… The Air That I Breathe features 12 tracks and marks Sir Cliff Richard’s incredible career, which spans more than 60 years in music.
The new album features two brand new songs: Falling For You, and PS Please, as well as Sir Cliff’s takes on some of his favourite artists, including The Beatles’ Here Comes The Sun and the Bee Gees, Too Much Heaven.
On Music… The Air That I Breathe Sir Cliff is also joined by a host of musicians for duets. These include Bonnie Tyler, The Bellamy Brothers, Sheila Walsh, The Piano Guys and Albert Hammond.
Speaking about the new album, Sir Cliff says “Looking back, I remember thinking that I wouldn’t make it to 50 and here I am at 80, and what’s even better than that is I have a new album! Music… The Air That I Breathe which features, not just me, but friends I admire who duetted with me on some of the tracks. I loved recording it and hope you will enjoy listening to it.”
Along with the brand new album, Sir Cliff Richard’s new book, The Dreamer: An Autobiography, will be published on 29th October, to celebrate his 80th birthday, and also celebrate his long and fruitful career in the music industry. Having scored a hit record in every decade since the 50s, Sir Cliff Richard’s experience in music – from being at the forefront of the British rock’n’roll boom with his band The Shadows, to pop, MOR, rock, and beloved Christmas no 1 hits – and with more than 250 million records sold worldwide, has ensured his status as a true British icon.
Sir Cliff’s has been a life full of music, and he shows no signs of stopping with this new birthday album, Music… The Air That I Breathe.
