Coldplay And BTS Share New Video for ‘My Universe’ – Watch
Coldplay and BTS have released a new music video for their recent collaboration, My Universe. The single is set to appear on Coldplay’s forthcoming ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres, due for release on October 15 via Atlantic. The single, sung in both English and Korean, was co-written by BTS and Coldplay.
Since its release on Friday, My Universe has already been streamed more than 100 million times, marking yet another successful collaboration with a Western act for BTS after the band’s previous hits with pop stars such as Halsey, Ed Sheeran, Megan Thee Stallion, Steve Aoki, Charli XCX and more.
Speaking about the collaboration to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said working with the group had been “a joy.”
He said: “I love them, and we love them, and it’s been such a joy. It’s something you could look at so cynically, and we have at times, but anytime there’s actual communication or music between us, it just feels so good. So, I unabashedly and unashamedly feel really grateful for the song, grateful for the person that inspired the song, and grateful for the people we sing it with.”
Produced by Max Martin, Music Of The Spheres will feature 12 tracks, five of which are represented by emojis, including a red heart, an infinity sign and a planet. This single release marks the band’s third from the album, Coldplay having released the album’s first single Higher Power in May, followed by the release of Coloratura in July.
