Tina Turner Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
Tina Turner was inducted as a solo artist during the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this week. Turner, who was inducted for her work alongside Ike Turner back in 1991, was introduced by Angela Bassett (who played Turner in the 1993 biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It?) at the ceremony. H.E.R. and Keith Urban also performed It’s Only Love, Turner’s duet with Bryan Adams; country artist Mickey Guyton played Tina’s iconic single What’s Love Got to Do With It; and Christina Aguilera covered River Deep, Mountain High.

Foo Fighters, Carole King, Jay-Z, Todd Rundgren, and The Go-Go’s were also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this year. The ceremony honored Kraftwerk, Gil-Scott Heron, and Charley Patton with the Early Influence award, while Randy Rhoads, Billy Preston, and LL Cool J were honored with the Musical Excellence Award.
A highlight of the evening came when Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ Get Back with the Foo Fighters after inducting Dave Grohl’s band, while LL Cool J marked his induction with a medley of some of his most celebrated songs, including a surprise appearance by Eminem for Rock The Bells.
