Kraftwerk Confirmed For 2022 Green Man Festival
Green Man Festival has announced the first wave of acts confirmed for its 20th anniversary event this summer. Michael Kiwanuka, Kraftwerk, Metronomy and Beach House have been confirmed as headliners. It’s set to be Kraftwerk’s first appearance at the festival.
Jenny Hval and Beverly Glenn-Copeland, have also been announced. They’ll be joined at Green Man by Dry Cleaning, Bicep, Tara Clerkin Trio, Low, Mdou Moctar, Black Country, New Road, Kae Tempest and more. Bristol party crew Alfresco Disco will also be in attendance. As will Yves Tumor, whose 2021 release Jackie was crowned Crack Magazine’s Track of the Year.
The Welsh Festival will stage its 20th edition in the Brecon Beacons from 18-21 August. Tickets have already sold out. Visit the festival’s official website for further information.
“We’re so excited about Green Man’s 20th birthday, and we’re planning to celebrate his big anniversary with lots of wonderful surprises and the best party ever!” Green Man boss Fiona Stewart previously said in a statement about this year’s festival.
Elsewhere in Kraftwerk news, the German electronic pioneers have announced that they will release their Remixes compilation on CD and vinyl through Parlophone Records on 25 March.
The compilation, which appeared on streaming services in December 2020, also features the band’s most recent Kling Klang studio output with the inclusion of Non Stop, a track that began life as a soundbite recorded for MTV in the 1980s, but in 2020, Kraftwerk took the original 30-second sound clip and then transformed it into a full eight-minute odyssey. The set also features newly updated mixes of Home Computer and Tour De France (Etape 2).
Remixes will be available on triple, heavyweight black vinyl LP, double CD and as a limited triple coloured vinyl edition (only available via the KlingKlang webstore and at the ‘Electro: From Kraftwerk To Techno Dusseldorf’ exhibition from 25 March.
