FKA twigs Shares New Video for ‘Honda’
FKA Twigs has shared a video for Honda, the latest single from her Caprisongs mixtape, released back in January. Honda was directed by Aiden Zamiri, a photographer and filmmaker who has previously worked with Caroline Polachek and Pink Panthress.
Zamiri also directed the official videos for Twigs’ previous singles, Papi Bones (featuring Shygirl), Meta Angel, Jealousy (featuring Rema) and Oh My Love, which was released only last week.
“Yolo, like with me it’s just anything to get the shot. Working with Aiden Zamiri has been incredible, he’s a genius ” FKA Twigs said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “‘Honda’ for me is like a perfect definition of a caprivid because it’s super short and cheeky and it leaves you wanting more.”
Twigs says the clip is meant to be “a little flash shot into my world, into my London, and into who I am.” “For me, making these shorts or caprivids is like a hole punch of your favorite scenes from a music video, nothing more nothing less. It’s like sorbet, you know like when you just keep on wanting more and more,” she says. “I love the fact that people are like upset with how short they are because that’s the whole point.”
She shared a behind the scenes clip from the making of Honda on her Instagram, writing “i always have fuuuun pt 1.”
Earlier this month, it was announced that FKA Twigs had directed a new short film, in which she also stars, as part of the 2022 International Woolmark Prize celebrations.
Playscape features Twigs and others dancing to ‘He Hu’ by Duval Timothy and Rosie Lowe, before X-Ray Spex‘s classic Identity takes over. The film has been made in tribute to the aforementioned annual prize, which recognises achievement in fashion.
