Alice Cooper has announced the release of what will be his 21st solo record, Detroit Stories, which will focus on the city and how shaped the sound of hard rock in the US.

Commenting on the record, Alice Cooper said: “Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” said Cooper. “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground.

“But Detroit was the epicentre for angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image-wise) Detroit was the only place that recognised the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound.”

To celebrate the city of Detroit, Alice Cooper, alongside producer Bob Ezrin, have gathered together some legendary Detroit musicians for the album, including MC5’s Wayne Fontana; Johnny Badanjek of Detroit Wheels, and Paul Randolph.

The album will be released on earMUSIC on 26th February 2021, while the first single, Rock ‘N’ Roll, will be available to hear tomorrow, Friday 13th November. While fans that order the CD+DVD set or CD Box Set versions will also get their hands on the film of the live performance, ‘A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris’, which makes its video debut. Alice Cooper included the show as he felt the needs to share one of the latest shows with his fans, in light of the cancelling of concerts due to the global pandemic.
