Avril Lavigne: “I Feel Like I’ve Grown As A Performer”
Avril Lavigne has taken a break from her current tour to talk to Boston radio station Mix 104.1 FM about 20 years of her debut album, Let Go.
Avril reflected on her first tour, “When I made my first album and did the first tour, I remember thinking, ‘I only have three singles. I can’t wait till my entire setlist is all singles!’ It’s so wonderful, it’s so cool. This whole tour has been really magical.”
She added: “I feel like I’ve grown as a performer. This tour that I’m doing now with my new album Love Sux – I just feel, like, really grateful. I think that’s the main feeling.
“And just to be able to sing my old songs and to still get the response that they get, and along with the new songs… It feels so good to still be making new music and having people just excited about it today.”
Meanwhile, On TikTok, Lavigne shared a video of her revisiting the Canal Street location in New York where she shot the cover for Let Go and recreating the pose.

“Just went to the location where I shot the cover of my debut album Let Go here in New York,” Lavigne wrote on Twitter.
Earlier this month, Avril released a deluxe edition of Let Go to celebrate the album’s anniversary. The deluxe version adds B-sides Falling Down, I Don’t Give, Why, Get Over It and Make Up, The latter two songs had been unavailable on streaming services until the deluxe release. It also adds a newly recorded version of Breakaway, the 2004 Kelly Clarkson song that Avril co-wrote.
Avril has also just released a cover of Adele’s hit single Hello, along with a acoustic version of her own Love Sux for Spotify’s Singles series.
