BRITS Week Gigs From Pendulum, Ash & More Raise Close To £500,000 For War Child
BRITs Week 24, which featured gigs from acts like Pendulum, Cian Ducrot, CMAT and Ash, has raised £430,000 (€511,000) for War Child.
In total, 13 shows took place across the UK in February and March, with proceeds going towards War Child’s work to help children whose lives have been affected by war. Happening in line BRIT Awards 2024, other acts on the line-up included The Last Dinner Party, Keane, You Me At Six, Baby Queen, Aitch, Aurora, Sleaford Mods, Venbee and Gabriels.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all our partners, the artists and everyone who bought a ticket to BRITs Week 2024,” said Clare Sanders-Wright, live music lead at War Child.
“War Child’s work is needed now more than ever, and the money raised will significantly impact the lives of thousands of children. Every day, our local teams are in communities and refugee camps creating safe spaces for children to play, learn and access psychological support. We also respond rapidly to emergency crises, delivering immediate and critical care impartially to those who need us most, when they need us most. Thank you once again for helping us to continue our vital work.”
Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher also launched signed prints inspired by classic Oasis tracks in aid of the War Child charity. He worked with the non-profit Soundwaves Art, which creates limited edition art from soundwaves to make the prints, and shared them on Instagram.
The prints were made from the audio of Definitely Maybe songs Live Forever, Rock ‘N’ Roll Star and Supersonic, and have been signed by both Gallagher himself and Soundwaves artist Tim Wakefield. There were just 100 prints and six originals available.
Oasis’ classic debut Definitely Maybe celebrates its 30th anniversary on August 29, and Gallagher headed out on the 30 Years Anniversary Tour last month, playing Sheffield, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
