Charli XCX & Troye Sivan Open ‘Sweat’ Tour In Detroit & Laval, QC
Superstar duo Charli xcx and Troye Sivan joined forces in Detroit, Michigan and Laval, QC to debut Charli xcx & Troye Sivan Present: Sweat, a one-of-a-kind show that featured next-level performances from both ground-breaking artists and an innovative production, turning each venue into the city’s hottest underground night club.
Both artists gave exceptional performances throughout the interwoven set, seamlessly transitioning back and forth as they performed their most popular hits over the 30+ song high energy show. Act 1 kicked off with Sivan performing massive cherished tracks such as My My My!, Got Me Started, and more off his standout album Something To Give Each Other before Charli joined and launched into 360, Von dutch and more from her latest album, BRAT, which has become a pop culture phenomenon.
The duo debuted wardrobe collaborations from several world class fashion houses and emerging designers. Charli’s looks included seven custom designs from Acne Studios, Jimmy Choo, Magliano, Yves Saint Laurent, Lily Teiger, Diesel, Alexander McQueen, Kiko Kostadinov and more. Sivan wore six different looks throughout the night, including pieces from Prada, Acne Studios, Star Cat, Gucci, The Attico, Dilara Findikoglu, Di Petsa, Martine Rose and more.
The energy was electric as Act 2 of the Sweat show commenced with Troye’s performances of In My Room, Dance to This and more. Fans went wild when Charli and Sivan then jointly performed Club classics and Charli proceeded into Unlock It, the viral remix of Guess featuring Billie Eilish and more. Act 3 included Troye’s hit Bloom and Charli’s fan-favorites Boys and Lorde remix of Girl, so confusing plus several other hits.
Throughout the performance, fans were introduced to numerous high impact and trailblazing production elements including stunning lighting design, cage-like catwalks and industrial style rises that towered over the energetic audience. Camera angles set up from around and even underneath the stage encapsulated fans in every bit of the SWEAT tour design.
Act 4 and 5 quite literally took the show to new heights when the duo continued with their fan-favorite collaboration 1999 along with solo standouts One of Your Girls from Sivan and Apple from Charli that showcased both song’s iconic viral choreography. Several others such as Vroom Vroom, Bloom, and more from their catalogue were incorporated into the set.
The duo finished the night with an encore of hit after hit such as I Love I, Rush, and more before concluding with recent remix release Talk Talk, treating fans to an incredible finale and officially rebranding September to SWEATember.
