The film was recorded across the band’s sold-out ten-night run at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, which took place in October 2022. It was originally streamed worldwide at the tail end of last year.
A press release reads, “Following the record-breaking success of Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres Live Broadcast from Argentina to cinemas worldwide last October, the band return to the big screen in this brand new, definitive director’s cut of the show, also available in ScreenX, 4DX and 4DX Screen formats.
“Filmed during Coldplay’s sold out, ten night run at Buenos Aires’ River Plate stadium, this spectacular concert film features remixed / remastered sound and stunning visuals captured by BAFTA-winning and Grammy-nominated director Paul Dugdale, including a host of previously-unseen footage.
“Lights, lasers, fireworks and LED wristbands fill the screen in a concert that The Times has heralded as “the greatest live music show ever”. Alongside classic hits such as Yellow, Fix You, Viva La Vida, My Universe and A Sky Full Of Stars, the film features stellar guest appearances including Jin of BTS with the live debut of his record-breaking single The Astronaut.
“Don’t miss your chance to share this joyful, life-affirming experience with Coldplay fans all over the world. This presentation also includes a special behind-the-scenes documentary – featuring unseen interviews with the band – which is exclusive to cinemas.
Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing said: “Following our hugely successful and record-breaking live event with Coldplay last year we’re delighted to be bringing these incredible shows back to cinemas in a new form for 2023.
“This new vision of the concerts, along with the new cinema-exclusive behind the scenes documentary, will provide an unmissable event, both for fans who attended the live screenings and those joining for the first time. We are also excited to showcase the film in ScreenX, 4DX and 4DX Screen through our partners at CJ 4DPlex, giving audiences an even deeper experience of these landmark shows.”
