David Bowie’s ‘LIVEANDWELL.COM’ album gets January 2021 Reissue
Parlophone have announced the third in a series of six very special David Bowie live releases from the 90s that will be released on CD and vinyl over the coming months.
David Bowie’s LIVEANDWELL.COM was previously released in 2000 in limited quantities to subscribers of BowieNet. The new, expanded edition includes new artwork featuring a cover shot of Bowie taken by Scarlet Page – the daughter of legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page – while rehearsing for his June 1997 London Hanover Grand shows.
Also included are two bonus tracks: Pallas Athena (from the 1993 album, Black Tie White Noise) and V-2 Schneider (from 1977’s “Heroes”). Both the songs are taken from the live performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam on 10th June 1997.
LIVEANDWELL.COM was recorded in New York, Amsterdam and Rio De Janeiro, during the 1997 Earthling tour. It’s first 10 tracks have, until now, been physically available only on the BowieNet release, while the two bonus tracks were released as a 12” single under the name The Tao Jones Index (the alias Bowie and his band employed to play an unannounced set in the dance tent at the Phoenix Festival in England in 1997).
LIVEANDWELL.COM was produced by David Bowie, co-produced by Reeves Gabrels and Mark Plati and mixed by Mark Plati at Looking Glass Studios, NYC. The musicians on the live recordings are David Bowie – vocals, guitar, saxophone; Zachary Alford – drums; Gail Ann Dorsey – bass, vocals, keyboards, Reeves Gabrels – guitars, synthesisers, vocals; and Mike Garson – piano, keyboards, synthesisers.
The album marks the third of six releases that will comprise the Brilliant Live Adventures set, with the first two releases being David Bowie Ouvrez Le Chien (Live Dallas 95), and No Trendy Réchauffé (Live Birmingham 95).
The albums are released on vinyl and CD as limited, one run only pressings. There are also special limited edition boxes for both the vinyl and CD, so fans can house the full collection. The albums and boxes are only be available via the David Bowie official store and our Dig! store.
The first three albums, as well as the special limited edition boxes are released pre-Christmas, while the other three albums will be out early next year.
