Gilmour suggested the album compares with his most celebrated work as a member of Pink Floyd, saying, “It’s over 50 years now since The Dark Side Of The Moon. My feeling is that this album is the best album I’ve made in all those years since 1973 when The Dark Side Of The Moon came out.”
The guitarist went on to claim that he’s keen to keep up the momentum the new album has given him, stating, ““Our plan is just to get this one out and run it and then do another one straight away. I will be working with all these people again.”
Gilmour has already previewed Luck And Strange with two singles, The Piper’s Call and a reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers’ 1999 track Between Two Points, recorded with his daughter, Romany Gilmour.
To support the release, Gilmour will play a series of tour dates this fall, including extended residencies in Rome, London, Los Angeles and New York City.
