Deftones have announced the line-up for their annual Dia De Los Deftones festival. This year the bill includes IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH and more.

The 2024 edition of the music bash will take place at Petco Park in San Diego, California on Saturday, 2 November. This year’s festival will mark the fifth anniversary of the annual music celebration which is headlined, hosted, and curated by Chino Moreno and company.

The one-day event will also include live performances from IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH, Paris Texas, Duster, Gel and Qendresa. Sunny Day Real Estate will be performing their debut album Diary in its entirety in celebration of its 30th anniversary.

An artist ticket pre-sale will kick off today, 24 July at 10am PT (1pm ET, 6pm BST) until Thursday, 25 July 25 at 10pm PT (1am ET, 6am BST) for fans who sign up for the band’s newsletter. Visit Deftones’ official website for further information.

An official press release said “On its two stages, Dia De Los Deftones showcases artists across the spectrum of culture, encompassing hip-hop, electronic, indie, alternative, and metal.

“Inviting complete immersion and an inimitable experience, its concourse comprises art installations, immersive activations, local vendors, exclusive merchandise, and more. After four prior sold out installments, it has emerged as a celebrated annual tradition for Deftones and the greater Southern California community.”

Dia De Los Deftones celebrates Día de los Muertos (Day Of The Dead) which is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration.

Speaking previously about the event, Chino Moreno said: “We take a ton of pride in curating it; it’s a chance for us to put forth and showcase some artists that we love and respect, and putting on an amazing day of music and culture for our fans.”

Last year’s edition of the festival saw the likes of 100 Gecs, Knocked Loose, Doechii, Pinback, Pieri, Rile and Capra perform.
