Deftones To Play Intimate Club Gig In Chicago
Deftones have announced a last-minute club gig ahead of their appearance at Lollapalooza on Saturday, 3 August. The American band will be playing tonight, 1 August at Metro in Chicago, with support from Fleshwater.
Tickets for the Chicago show, which went live through the venue’s ticket provider, were limited to only two per person and have already sold out.
Deftones are one of the hundreds of acts who will be performing at Lollapalooza in Chicago, joining the likes of Blink-182, Hozier, SZA, and The Killers.
The festival will take place this weekend (1-4 August) at Grant Park. Future and Metro Boomin are among the headline performers on Saturday, the same day that Deftones are playing.
Last month Tyler, The Creator pulled out of his headline slot and was replaced by Megan Thee Stallion. Tyler, The Creator tweeted: “I made a commitment that I can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were. That is not sexy at all. Please please forgive me or call me names when you see me in person. Love.”
In July, Deftones announced the line-up for their annual Dia De Los Deftones festival. This year the bill includes IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH and more.
The 2024 edition of the music bash will take place at Petco Park in San Diego, California on Saturday, 2 November. This year’s festival will mark the fifth anniversary of the annual music celebration which is headlined, hosted, and curated by Chino Moreno and company.
The one-day event will also include live performances from IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH, Paris Texas, Duster, Gel and Qendresa. Sunny Day Real Estate will be performing their debut album Diary in its entirety in celebration of its 30th anniversary. Visit Deftones’ official website for further information.
An official press release said “On its two stages, Dia De Los Deftones showcases artists across the spectrum of culture, encompassing hip-hop, electronic, indie, alternative, and metal.
“Inviting complete immersion and an inimitable experience, its concourse comprises art installations, immersive activations, local vendors, exclusive merchandise, and more. After four prior sold out installments, it has emerged as a celebrated annual tradition for Deftones and the greater Southern California community.”
