Devo, First Aid Kit and Spiritualized will headline Green Man 2023. The festival, which will run from 17-20 August, takes place in the surroundings of the Black Mountains deep in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, Wales.
Other acts announced for the festival include Amyl and The Sniffers, The Walkmen, Young Fathers, Confidence Man, Goat, Slowdive, The Comet Is Coming, Lankum, Snail Mail, Jockstrap, Courtney Marie Andrews, Beth Orton, Billy Nomates, Gilla Band and The Wedding Present, among many others.
Organisers said in a statement, “Unearth your GM23 line-up. Our three belting headliners coming your way – the ethereal-duo First Aid Kit, who return to cast a folk-tinted spell over the Brecon Beacons after almost a decade away!
“Plus new wave pioneers Devo, whose set as part of their farewell tour will go down in the GM history books.
“And to launch us into another stratosphere, J Spaceman and his band of merry space-cadets, will see Spiritualized entrance us all amongst the mountains!
“Plus, Aussie rioters Amyl and The Sniffers, shoegaze heroes Slowdive(band), a festival exclusive slot with indie pioneers The Walkmen, Mercury award-winning Young Fathers, purveyors of the party Confidence Man and Sweden’s cosmic-psych collective Goat!
“Plus plenty more acts to follow (and a final headliner), so keep ears to the ground. Big love, GM.”
Not just known for its music and scenery, Green Man Festival is made up of 10 individual areas offering a diverse range of events to accompany its incredible line-up.
There are art installations spread throughout the tranquil valley, a beer and cider tent to enjoy a crisp Welsh pint, an Ancient Egypt-themed area of discovery and exploration for the little folk, a relaxation and workshop space for the teenagers, plus a science engagement area called Einstein’s Garden.
The Devo show will be the only UK festival slot of their 2023 farewell tour. The new wave pioneers will perform a headline show at London’s Eventim Apollo on 19 August to celebrate 50 years in music.
