There have been rumours circulating online that Lee is replacing the band’s late frontman Chester Bennington – who tragically died by suicide in 2017.
Lee denied that she’d be joining the band but left the door open when she told Canada’s iHeart Radio: “That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.”
Amy insisted: “No, it’s not true. But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time.”
Recently, Linkin Park revealed the details of their first career-spanning hits album. Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023) will be released on 12 April through Warner Records on a variety of formats. They also shared Friendly Fire, a previously unreleased track from the compilation that features vocals from Chester Bennington.
“Curating the tracks for Papercuts was a joy,” said Mike Shinoda. “Each song in this collection is both a singular moment on our timeline and an evolving story that is as much ours as it is yours. From our first release One Step Closer to the brand-new Friendly Fire, this tracklist spans all our chapters so far.”
