Glastonbury 2023: Lizzo, Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses Added To Line-Up
Glastonbury Festival has announced the latest wave of acts for its 2023 line-up, including Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Lizzo.
Organiser Emily Eavis spoke to The Guardian about the latest additions, saying that Lizzo, “Could totally headline,” said Eavis, adding that the Pyramid stage often sees bigger crowds in the afternoon than at night. “Many of the artists could. But the headline slot had already been promised to someone else.” Lizzo will play before co-headliners Guns N’Roses, who Eavis is looking forward to seeing, “They’ll be brilliant and provide something totally different to the rest of the headliners.”
The latest names join Elton John, who has already been announced as the Sunday headliner. The show will be the singer-songwriter’s last ever UK date. Eavis revealed that she wrote him a personal letter, urging him “not to miss out on a potentially incredible moment for you, for us, for the fans…. He called up and confirmed right away. People assume that because we’re the ‘Christmas of music’ we can breezily book whoever – but to get Elton doesn’t happen easily, so that’s a really big moment for us.”
