Gorillaz Share Dreamy New Single, ‘Baby Queen’
Gorillaz have released their latest single Baby Queen, from their upcoming eighth studio album Cracker Island, set to be released Friday, 24 February, via Parlophone. This album will be the band’s first release since 2021 ‘Meanwhile’ EP.

The new song was released alongside an aesthetic Gorillaz visual. The song itself has a more laidback, dreamy sound, with lyrics about a meeting princess from Thailand and watching her grow up in dreams. Baby Queen is also featured in FIFA 2023. You can check the track out below.
Baby Queen is the third and final single from their upcoming album, following New Gold with Tame Impala and Cracker Island (the song) with Thundercat.
The virtual band, headed up by Damon Albarn, boast of a host of collaborators on their eighth studio album, with Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, Adeleye Omotayond and Bootie Brown joining the aforementioned Tame Impala and Thundercat.
Cracker Island has been produced by eight-time Grammy Award-winning producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Greg Kurstin along with Gorillaz and Remi Kabaka Jr.
Press material about Gorillaz’s new album states: “Originally based at Kong Studios in West London, the group of musical misfits – Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D – have relocated to Silverlake, California as they recruit new members to join The Last Cult in search of the one truth to fix the world. Guitarist Noodle said of their new record: “Cracker Island is the sound of change and the chorus of the collective.” Drummer Russel added: “When the reckoning comes, gotta be ready to step through the gateway. Cracker Island’s got the entry codes…”
Gorillaz just finished a North American tour last month. The tour ran from early September to late October with supporting acts Earthgang and Jungle.
