James Blunt today releases the emotional video for latest single The Girl That Never Was, the latest instalment of music from his upcoming new album Who We Used To Be, due for release on 27 October.

Directed by Vaughan Arnell (Sam Smith, Pet Shop Boys) the video for The Girl That Never Was tells a story of the painful aftermath of the loss of a child, reflecting the delicate, raw, lyrical themes of the acoustic-lead track. You can watch it in full below.
Prior to The Girl That Never Was, the new album’s first single arrived in the shape of the upbeat banger Beside You. Directed by Craig Bingham, that song’s video evokes memories of James’ past.
Who We Used To Be is James Blunt’s first studio album since the acclaimed, top 3 Once Upon A Mind in 2019. This time out he has worked with a variety of producers including Jonny Coffer, Red Triangle, Jack & Coke and Steve Robson. His recent greatest hits collection, The Stars Beneath My Feet, went Gold selling over 100,000 copies.
Next year, James makes a most welcome return to the road, where he will play 12 dates across the UK next Spring kicking off March 30 at Leeds First Direct Arena and finishing April 14th at the Bournemouth International Centre. Tickets on sale now via the artist’s official website.
