Lizzo, Jack Harlow Perform At The 2022 BET Awards

Lizzo and Jack Harlow were among the performers at the BET Awards 2022.

Lizzo opened the show by performing About Damn Time from her forthcoming album Special. She stepped onstage in a gold disco ball-style outfit while playing an extensive flute solo. Watch it below.

Meanwhile Jack Harlow put on a star-studded performance, including a guest spot from Brandy on his single First Class. The Louisville rapper took to the stage kicked off his performance with Come Home The Kids Miss You track, Poison, with DJ Drama manning the decks. Lil Wayne also made an appearance to deliver his verse. Harlow followed that up with First Class, surprising the crowd by bringing out Brandy to deliver the playful diss of hers that went vital last month.

Brandy thanked Harlow for bringing her out onstage after the show, which she called a “dream come true”. On Instagram, she shared a photo of her, Harlow and Lil Wayne, writing in the caption: “Jack, thank you for such an amazing opportunity. Love for life.”

The event — which also featured performances from artists including Latto, Doechii, Jack Harlow and Chlöe — also honored Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs with a Lifetime Achievement Award, accompanied by a star-studded tribute performance from Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, Bryson Tiller, Faith Evans and The Maverick City Choir.

Kanye West was on hand to present Combs with the award in a surprise appearance. “I go to him for advice to this day. He inspires so many of my choices, so many of my life choices,” West said. “This man has been through and survived a lot of stuff and broke down a lot of doors so we can be standing.”
