Madonna: “Love Is What Makes The World Go Round”
Madonna has spoken to Harpers Bazaar about her hit new compilation, Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones, and – following her Pride gig in NYC – how important the LGBTQ+ community is to her.
Talking about Finally Enough Love, which is available on all streaming platforms now, Madonna said, “I named this record Finally Enough Love, because at the end of the day, love is what makes the world go round. It also is representative of one of my biggest loves in life, which is dance,” the singer says. “I love to dance, and I love to inspire people to dance—so with 50 number one dance hits, that is a lot of love to share.”

Madonna went on to discuss how crucial the LGBTQ+ community has been for her career: “The LGBTQ+ community has always been hugely supportive of me since day one when I first moved to New York City as a dancer before I started my singing career. Then after I became a singer, the queer community always came out for me, supported me, and they did not judge me—they celebrated me! And they have never been afraid of the fact that I’m a strong, independent female. They showed up for me, and I will always show up for them!”
As her Pride performance and its numerous costume changes showed, her sense of style is still a pivotal part of Madonna’s act, when asked about her personal style she said, “If I’m tired, working hard, and staying home, you’ll see me in sweatpants and a T-shirt. [But] if I am going out, I might also rock a track suit—my favorites are by Balenciaga and Adidas. If I know I’m being photographed and that I have to look fierce, it’s still all dictated by my mood! I don’t have any particular style, I just know when I go out on the street, I want to be ready to kick some ass or ready to dance—so a cute outfit and my combat boots is a go-to, and always a great pair of sunglasses!”
