Bublé’s Christmas has become a regular on the Official UK Albums Chart every winter – the album has spent six non-consecutive weeks at No 1 since its initial release in 2011.
It was also revealed this week that Bublé has two songs in Britain’s official top 40 most streamed Christmas songs – both from the Christmas album. It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas (6) and Holly Jolly Christmas (20) both rank highly in the chart, compiled by Magic FM.
Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You took the title of the UK’s most streamed Christmas song with 475 million streams to date, followed by Wham’s Last Christmas, on 457m, and Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl with 316m plays.
The chart reveals that Bublé’s It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas is the most streamed Christmas song to be released since 2010. The 2011 take on the classic track has had 257m plays to date.
The star has recently collaborated with country star Carly Pierce on a new festive hit, Maybe This Christmas.
“I’ve been a fan of Michael for years, I mean, he’s one of the great singers of all time,” Carly told The Sun.
“And to get to have a song that isn’t in the country world, it kind of stepped me out of my comfort zone,” Pierce continued. “But to get to sing with an amazing vocalist on a really special song, that means something obviously. Storytelling is really important to me. It was an honour, and I love this song and I love him, and he’s now a dear friend.”
