Cowboys From Hell is widely regarded as the record which made Pantera heroes to headbangers all around the world. After hitting a peak of No. 27 on the Billboard 200, the album went on to become one of the most influential metal albums of all time and was recently certified double platinum.

Keeping up the pressure, Vulgar Display Of Power followed in 1992 and refined the band’s heavier-than-heavy aesthetic with songs like Mouth For War while also showcasing the group’s musical range and virtuosity on the haunting ballad Hollow. The record was again certified double platinum and spent 79 weeks on the Billboard 200, setting a commercial record for Pantera.

The band’s success continued in 1994 with Far Beyond Driven, perhaps one of the most uncompromising albums to ever debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Several tracks became evergreen fan favorites, including 5 Minutes Alone and a cover of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid-era classic Planet Caravan. The single “I’m Broken” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.

The Great Southern Trendkill arrived in 1996 and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The platinum-certified album contains some of Pantera’s darkest lyrics and fastest tempos, including “Suicide Note Pt. II,” another of the band’s four Grammy-Nominated songs.

Pantera’s final studio album, Reinventing The Steel, came out in 2000. Once again, it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard chart and was certified gold. The album features stone classics such as Goddamn Electric and the Grammy Award-nominated single “Revolution Is My Name.”
