Stevie Nicks To Release Buffalo Springfield Cover
Stevie Nicks has announced that she is to release a cover version of Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth this Friday (23 September).
The former Fleetwood Mac singer posted the news on her socials by way of a hand-written note which read, “I am so excited to release my new song this Friday. It’s called For What It’s Worth and it was written by Stephen Stills in 1966. It meant something to me then, and it means something to me now. I always wanted to interpret it [through] the eyes of a woman—and it seems like today, in the times that we live in — that it has a lot to say. I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

For What It’s Worth will be Stevie Nicks’ first new music release since 2014, when she released the album 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault, which was a collection of re-recorded demos written between 1969 and 1987. Before that, her last album was In Your Dreams in 2011, an album of new songs, one of which was also titled For What It’s Worth.
Nicks’ US tour is currently underway and had been praised for the career-spanning setlists, which have included Fleetwood Mac hits Dreams, Gypsy, Gold Dust Woman, Landslide and Rhiannon, as well as solo highlights including Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around, Wild Heart, Bella Donna and Edge Of Seventeen.
