The tour is the group’s first since their 2014 split, and their first since the death of vocalist and lyricist Shane MacGowan in 2023. The seven shows will take place across May 2025, with dates scheduled for Leeds, Birmingham, London, Glasgow, Manchester, and Newcastle.

The band will play Rum Sodomy & The Lash in its entirety along with B-sides, extended version tracks and a special selection of their most beloved material.

Tickets go on general sale at 9:30am GMT on Friday 22 November. Sign up here by 5pm GMT on Tuesday 19 November for tour pre-sale access from Wednesday 20 November.

A post on the band’s website reads, “The world got you down? What helps is celebrating 40 years of Rum, Sodomy & the Lash live with The Pogues!

“Spider Stacy, James Fearnley and Jem Finer will be joined by special guests in May of 2025 to celebrate this milestone!”

A statement on the band’s website also confirmed that longtime drummer Andrew Ranken would not be taking part in any reunion appearances due to health issues which made performing an impossibility.

Last month, a special 40th anniversary edition of debut album Red Roses For Me was released on two formats – recycled red vinyl containing the 2013 remix of the album and a double-CD set, including the album and B-sides and a bonus disc of the band’s BBC sessions from 1984.

Stacy, Fearnley, and Finer will helm a 40th anniversary celebration of Red Roses for Me in Dublin, featuring members of groups such as Fontaines DC, Pretenders, and The Mary Wallopers.
