The Pogues’ Spider Stacy, James Fearnley and Jem Finer – as well as members of Fontaines D.C., The Bad Seeds, The Scratch and more – are performing as part of the anniversary show, set to take place at Dublin’s 3Arena on 17 December 2024 with a slew of very special guests.
Joining Stacy, Fearnley and Finer are Tom Coll of Fontaines D.C., Goat Girl’s Holly Mullineaux, Alfie’s Fiachra Meek, Bad Seeds Jim Sclavunos and George Vjestica, Pretender and Pogue James Walbourne and Jordan O’Leary from The Scratch. A host of special guest singers will also be announced in due course.
In an Instagram post to announce the show, Stacy wrote, “From the rosy parks of England to the banks of the Royal Canal and beyond – I’m delighted to announce this. Come on down and help us make it one to remember.”
The show follows a performance of the band’s debut album in Hackney, London, in May. Stacy was initially approached by Campbell Baum of Broadside Hacks and Tom Coll of Fontaines DC & Skinty Fia with the idea he curate the Friday night of their Moth Feile club night but they quickly outgrew the 350 capacity club and after members of Lankum and their management intervened, Spider agreed to move it to Hackney Empire e.
“Campbell has been remarkably successful at introducing traditional folk to a much younger non-folk audience in London. A bit like the Pogues did. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with him and Tom on this” – Spider Stacy.
