The War On Drugs have announced new UK & European live dates for June 2023.

A statement reads, “Following tremendous acclaim for their sold-out UK tour this past April, The War On Drugs today announce news of a run of UK and European live dates for June 2023. Described as “the sweet spot between the haze of psychedelia and the hands-aloft accessibility of 1980s rock’ (The Times), The War on Drugs will bring their “potent anthems & air punch inducing synth lines” (The Guardian) to a select group of unique venues, hand-picked by the band, including the Eden Project in Cornwall, the Grade 1 listed Piece Hall in Halifax, Zitadelle in Berlin and the iconic Zenith in Paris.”

The War On Drugs recently released I Don’t Live Here Anymore (Deluxe Edition), from which they shared the tracks Oceans Of Darkness and Slow Ghost. “Oceans of Darkness is exactly the kind of big, triumphant, propulsive heartland rock song that The War On Drugs always do best” proclaimed Brooklyn Vegan while MOJO magazine described the track as “a strident, motoric groove with stadium-sized Velvet Underground moves.”

Over the last 15+ years, The War on Drugs have steadily emerged as one of this century’s great rock and roll synthesists, removing the gaps between the underground and the mainstream, between the obtuse and the anthemic, making records that wrestle a fractured past into a unified and engrossing present. The band have never done that as well as they do with their fifth studio album, I Don’t Live Here Anymore, an uncommon rock album about one of our most common but daunting processes — resilience in the face of despair.
